| Algarve,
Portugal is simply one of the most beautiful places to visit in the world.
From the streamlined, white sandy beaches to the quaint culture and attractions,
there is plenty to see and do in this lovely area. However, when you visit,
there are some basic things that the tourist should keep in mind as he
or she enjoys the scenery.
1.
First of all, be sure to book your hotel reservations out long ahead of
the appointed time. Why? Algarve is a very popular tourist destination
and hotels will become crowded very quickly, especially during the summer
season. Make sure that you pick up the phone a few months in advance to
ensure yourself a room at the hotel of your choice. On the other hand,
if you plan to be staying in Algarve for a longer period of time than other
people, then it may be helpful to reserve a vacation rental for yourself
and your family. Holidays
in the Algarve are accentuated when your accommodations are comfortable
and convenient. There are plenty of cheap
hotels for the average traveller to lodge that are both clean and low
cost.

Traveling from out of the country? Make sure you have your passport and
at least one other form of Identification with you before you leave. It’s
important to keep cash with you at all times when you’re traveling in Algarve.
The reason is that most vendors, restaurants and other establishments here
accept only cash. If you have only your credit or debit card, it is likely
that you will be out of luck. Also, checks aren’t a safe option when paying
nomadic vendors.
3.
No matter how you slice it, the main attraction of Algarve is its beautiful
blue ocean. Make sure you bring plenty of sunblock and light, summer-time
clothes. It’s a tropical paradise here and you don’t want to be bundled
up in sweaters or itchy jeans. There are lots of things to do, like visiting
the ZooMarine Algarve, the city’s marine museum with live aquatic shows,
and Dream Wave, an experience on the ocean by boat. |

Be prepared for a lot of native dining in this city. You aren’t likely
to find potatoes or tea, but you are likely to find a lot of spicy and
traditional Portuguese dining. Again, make sure that you bring cash to
all of these restaurants. Many of them are small establishments and you
will not want to give your credit card number to any of them – no matter
how fantastic the food is!
5.
Lastly, be certain that you have a general knowledge of the area. Study
some maps and don’t be afraid to ask for directions.
