FLORES ISLAND SELF-CATERING VILLAS AND APARTMENTS - FEATURED OPTIONS
Flores lies like the island of Corvo on the American Continental Plate. Fajã Grande is the westernmost village in all of Europe.  The Flores Island is said to be one of the most beautiful of the Azores Islands, of which it is part of the western group. In summer time, the island is covered by thousands of hydrangeas, which have large blue or pink flowers. Flores is the Portuguese for flowers, and this is the source of the island's name.

Pico Island is an island of the Azores noted for its eponymous volcano, Ponta de Pico (Pico Alto), which is the highest mountain of Portugal and also the highest elevation of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.  The island is 17.5 km south of São Jorge (Ilha de São Jorge) and just 7 km west of Faial (Ilha do Faial). It is 42 km long, has a maximum width of 15 km and an area of 447 km² making the second largest of the Azores islands. Terceira Island is an island in the Azores Archipelago, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Angra do Heroísmo, the historical capital of the Azores, is located on Terceira, and its historical centre is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The island has two ports in Angra do Heroísmo and in Praia da Vitória. It also has a military base in Lajes. Angra do Heroísmo is the oldest city in the Azores dating back to 1534.
