Tribo do Mar surf house

Are you looking for comfortable accommodation in Peniche? Our comfortable and spacious surf house is a perfect option when you want to meet other surfers and have your privacy at the same time. The surfhouse consists of five bedrooms. There are single, double and triple room options. You will have your private room.

Outside there is a beautiful garden with a large covered bbq area in the back. This is the ultimate place for a grill after a good day of surf.

This comfortable surf apartment is the perfect place for you and your friends or family.

It has two bedrooms which offer room for four to six people (single and double beds). There is a big kitchen, it has two bathrooms (washing machine included) and a spacious living room where you can relax after a satisfying day. It also has a terrace with a bbq.

Peniche

Peniche is a peninsula in the West of Portugal. It is a small fishermen's town surrounded by beautiful beaches with a large choice of great surf spots.

Peniche is known for its consistent and high quality waves. It's peninsular shape is a guarantee for offshore surf conditions. Surfing every day is a common pleasure, in winter and in summer. We have waves for every surfer, beginner or pro. It's truly a surfing paradise.

Surf school Tribo do Mar is located in Consolação, on the south beach of Peniche. This small peaceful village has several surf breaks on its doorstep. The reefs are found on the left side of the old fortress and on the right side there is a long stretch of beach.

This beach leads to Supertubos and the town of Peniche. Supertubos, the most famous beach break of Portugal, is within a walking distance of 20 minutes.

All other waves in the region (around 20 more breaks) can be reached within 15 minutes driving.

Next to being famous for its waves, the Peniche area is also known for its gastronomy. There are many great local dishes to taste, many fish to eat.

With several bars and clubs around, you don't have to worry about having to go to sleep early in Peniche.

How to get to Consolação:
The nearest airport is Lisbon airport.

By car:
From the airport, get the A8 in the direction of Leiria. Take exit 14 to Peniche. Drive to Peniche on the IP6. Once getting to the first roundabout of Peniche, take the 3rd exit to ´Praia da Consolação´. Surf school Tribo do Mar (meeting point) is in the center of Consolação and indicated with signs.

Transfer:
We arrange a taxi to pick you up at the airport to take you to Consolação. Costs: 80 eur per ride, 90 EUR in the night or weekend. Note that arranging a taxi yourself at the airport is more expensive.

Housing:
Sheets are provided at all accommodation options, towels are not. Doing laundry is possible at all locations. Every accommodation has cooking and bbq facilities.

Weather:
Peniche has a mild climate all your round. In spring expect air temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius, in summer around 28 degrees, autumn 20 degrees and in winter around 15 degrees.

Waves:
Peniche is known for its consistent swells and its numerous spot options. If you are an experienced surfer and want to catch big waves, we recommend spring, autumn and winter time. Due to spring tides we also get big swells in August. In principle there is always a suitable beach for beginners found all year round.

Water Temperature:
In spring, summer and autumn we surf with a 3/2 mm wetsuit, in winter with a 4/3mm wetsuit. Since the water stays relatively fresh during summer (around 20 degrees) we recommend using a wetsuit all year round.
