is an archipelago
of Portugal in the northeast Atlantic Ocean and it offers one of the most

Calheta is a parish
in the western part of Madeira. It is located W of Santana, W of
Machico, and 32 WNW of Funchal. It is linked with a road linking northeast
to Santana and southeast to Funchal. It is the western parish in the Madeira
Island. The area is famous for its yachts. The sands from the Sahara Desert
affects the area with dust clouds.
The main source of industry
are agriculture and fishing while a small number of businesses are in the
downtown area. Calheta has a few schools, a few lyceums, a gymnasium, banks,
a post office, a small port, beaches and squares or plazas (praças). |

Caniço is
a parish in the municipality of Santa Cruz in the Madeira Islands. Caniço
is connected with the urban sprawl of Funchal and like Calheta, Caniço
is larger than the seat of the municipality. The city of Funchal is bordered
to its west. It is located 6 km E of Funchal. Caniço is surrounded
with two streams, a shorter one in the west and a long stream to the east.
The main industry are agriculture with some businesses. It is connected
with a road linking Funchal, Santa Cruz and Machico and are divided into
two, another road links north to Camacha with two roads and another links
to its beach. |

is a beautiful house with two separate apartments, a top floor with two
bedrooms and a ground floor with one bedroom, which can be rented as a
villa sleeping up to 7. It is situated in the posh villa area 5-10
minutes by car (10 Euros by taxi) from the centre of Funchal. The
top apartment, with its classical decoration, has a terrace with view to
the sea and over the garden. The more modern decorated bottom apartment
has direct entrance to the garden from the lounge and bed room. There
are possibilities for barbecuing, relaxing in the garden with its pond
and just enjoying life. The distance to the sea is 500 meters. The
golf courses are 5 and 10 minutes away by car. There is diving, tennis,
walking, jogging and sailing sports available in the immediate area.

end of a cul-de-sac on the western outskirts of Funchal. Its elevated position
on a steep hillside grants it spectacular views over the whole of the Funchal
amphitheatre, but the setting need be no impediment to guests with walking
difficulties, as one of the luxuries provided is a private lift, whisking
you up from the street level entrance hall to the main accommodation level
some 20feet above. The main entrance opens on to a large hallway, where
there is an oval dining table at your disposal and a piano. The ground
floor of the villa sleeps 2-3 people, and has a spacious living-dining
room, an extremely well equipped open plan kitchen, a bedroom with electronically
adjustable adjoining twin beds, a small TV room with internet access and
a sofa bed for a third person. There is a full bathroom with under-floor
heating, a bathtub/shower and a spacious separate shower cubicle. Upstairs
are two further twin bedrooms with balconies, one with a television and
